Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!
I am thrilled to welcome you back to school and to the beautiful Carthage 6th Grade Center!  We have an outstanding staff at the 6GC who are committed to making the transition from 5th grade to 6th grade smooth and successful for our students.  We are looking forward to partnering with you to ensure the success and well-being of your child(ren).

Our dedicated teachers and staff have been busy planning and preparing engaging lessons for the students.  Our amazing office and support staff have been making sure supplies are ordered and that everything is ready for the first day of school.  Our wonderful custodial staff has been working very hard thoroughly cleaning the school.  Our great food service team has been planning menus that are both healthy and tasty.   

At the 6GC, students will have a different teacher and travel from classroom to classroom for each subject.  Students will have lockers.  We encourage students not to overpack their backpacks because we have four floors to travel up and down throughout the day!  We also encourage students to bring water bottles to school daily.  We have bottle filling stations on every floor.

We are very proud of our school and we have high expectations for each and every student at the 6GC.  The Carthage 6th Grade Center’s mission is, “We teach all learners to take steps toward their unique potentials through positive and relevant experiences focusing on their social, emotional, and academic needs.”
